For all its worth, the Guy has surely tried, 3 time loser to President Elect Yoweri Museveni , Besigye has stamina and determination
I propose a toss and Medal,
Besigye should be declared a living hero for the following 2 reasons,
In 2001 He came out and boldly gave the ruling NRM a run for their money with some proposals that brought a shift in government policy where a year after government sponsored students Numbers were doubled from 2000 to 4000 and introduction of the quota system.
After being thrown in jail the judiciary was put to a test, though he was court martial-ed he came through the fracas Victorious.
In 2006 He stood again with his Party the Forum for Democratic Change and lost but during the campaigns he proposed scrapping of Graduated tax which came into force after the elections. This was a relief especially to the poorest of the poor.
Though he stood again on the 18th Feb and lost in more ways than one he is victor and for this he should be declared a Hero.
