GREENBURGH, N.Y. — There was no hesitation in his response, no pause for the reporter to even finish his question.
Carmelo Anthony seemed to be waiting for the Cleveland Cavaliers to be mentioned, like he's waiting for them to visit the Knicks tonight at the Garden.
"[Tonight] is a payback game, man," Anthony said. "... It left a bitter taste in my mouth and the team's mouth. And we remember that. We hold grudges."
Maybe they and Anthony — a Knick for all of five games — should do just that.
The Cavaliers are 2-0 against the Knicks this season after last week's 115-109 victory, but only 9-49 against every other team.
The company line for the Knicks (31-28) is earning a playoff spot and then trying to make a run. They hold the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, 1 1/2 games ahead of Philadelphia.
