NCAA Tournament: Pitt to meet UNC-Ashville

When the Pitt Panthers loaded the bus Tuesday outside Petersen Events Center for a trip to Washington, they didn't know who they would play in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

"We're going to have to come out and see their style of play," junior Nasir Robinson said. "We just got to get prepared for them."

Once they reached Washington, the Panthers watched UNC Asheville beat Arkansas-Little Rock, 81-77, in overtime Tuesday night in Dayton, Ohio, to advance to face the top-seeded Panthers at approximately 3:10 p.m. Thursday at Verizon Center.

Coach Jamie Dixon said the Panthers would practice today and Thursday before the game, giving the team two opportunities to tailor its preparation to Asheville. The Panthers went through a short workout before leaving Pittsburgh.
