Roberto the greatest of a great baseball family

He is the youngest member of one of the great professional baseball families.

His father Sandy played 15 seasons in the big leagues, making an all-star team and hitting .245 during his career.

Big brother Sandy Jr. was even more impressive, hitting .273 over 20 seasons, winning a gold glove, a Rookie of the Year award and being named an all-star six times.

On Sunday Roberto Alomar talked about what both his father and his brother meant to his own career in the Major Leagues.

Roberto Alomar talked about how much he learned from each of them, and how his father was the greatest second baseman he had ever seen.

And, as a kid that might have been true. Sandy Alomar might have been the greatest second baseman to his young son, but on Sunday it was the youngest Alomar who was being honored.
