Saudi ambassador: We didn't demand amnesty for Mubarak

Saudi ambassador to Egypt Ahmed al-Qattan said Wednesday that his country has not demanded amnesty for former President Hosni Mubarak, who is currently standing trial in Cairo, accused of killing protesters during the 25 January revolution.

Qattan told the privately-owned satellite channel Al-Hayat that Saudi Arabia is not bothered by Mubarak's trial, adding that meetings held between Saudi and Egyptian officials have not discussed amnesty for the ousted president.

"Saudi Arabia is a stable country and fears no threats," he emphasized.
